Olga Roumanos
Psychologist
BPsychScience, GradDip Psych, GradDip ProfPsych
I am a psychologist who is experienced in working with children, adolescents and adults in educational, community and private settings. I enjoy working with a variety of presenting issues, such as depression, anxiety, challenging behaviours, relationship difficulties, work/study-related stress, family violence, trauma, parenting difficulties, women’s issues and life stresses.
I aim to create a space that is warm, accepting, compassionate and safe, so I work from a client-centred framework. This involves working with clients in an equal partnership to achieve their goals. I use techniques from cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, interpersonal and solution-focussed therapies when working with clients.
When working with children and adolescents, I am family inclusive as I believe it leads to better outcomes. I am passionate about using my understanding of gender inequality, along with other forms of inequalities, in my work with clients. Working from a feminist and trauma-informed framework, I aim to help clients to make decisions for themselves from a place of insight, freedom and power.
